Set up your brand and prompts
Every number in FixAEO is derived from this step, which is why it comes first. You enter your domain. FixAEO reads your homepage and drafts a brand profile: description, industry, products, audience. Then it suggests up to 10 topics, and 8 realistic customer questions for each topic you keep. You check the ones worth tracking.Setup is five steps plus a results screen. It saves as you type, so you can close the tab and pick up where you left off on another device. Two limits worth knowing. Setup caps your first brand at 15 prompts on every plan, so add the rest afterwards from your brand settings. And prompts are a shared pool across your account, not a separate allowance per brand.Your task: pick the 15 questions a real customer would actually type, not the ones that flatter you.Read more: Setting up your prompts and Your brand profile.
2
Name your competitors
Prompt results on their own give you a score. Competitors turn that score into a ranking.FixAEO doesn’t fill competitors in for you. Add the domains you compete with and they become a filter across your citation views. Track competitor names and they hold their place in your industry ranking even in weeks where no engine mentioned them. That silence is a signal too.Topics work differently. You don’t group prompts by hand. FixAEO clusters your prompts into themes for you and refreshes them as your list changes.Your task: add the three or four competitors you actually lose deals to.Read more: Tracking competitors and Topics and labels.
3
Read your first results
Now there’s something to read.Your first scan starts as soon as you finish setup. How long results take after that depends on the AI engines themselves, so don’t sit on the page waiting. Check back later in the day. When data lands, your dashboard leads with Visibility Score: the percentage of AI answers that mention your brand. Under it sits a per-engine breakdown, your recent mentions, and your category ranking.Your task: write down your starting Visibility Score so you have a baseline to beat.Read more: Understanding your dashboard and Visibility Score.
A Free plan completes setup but doesn’t run scheduled scans. Scans begin on Lite and above. See Plans and limits.

Act on what you find
A number you never act on is just a number. Two surfaces close the loop. Improve gives you a list of pending actions drawn from your gaps. Alerts catch the changes you’d otherwise miss: a visibility drop, a new competitor, a rival surging past you.Your task: set one alert on your Visibility Score before you close the tab.Read more: Improve and Alerts.
