Check any website’s AI visibility in one click, without opening FixAEO. The FixAEO Chrome extension is a toolbar popup that scores whatever site you’re currently on. Click the icon on a competitor, a prospect, or a client site. You get a visibility score out of 100, plus the prompts where that brand shows up. There’s no sign-in and no setup.

Pin the icon

Open the puzzle-piece menu in your toolbar and pin FixAEO. The extension only runs when you click it, so an unpinned icon is a buried feature.

What the popup shows

When the domain has been scanned before, you get four things:
  • A score donut out of 100 for that brand’s presence in AI answers
  • The domain and when it was last scanned
  • The top three prompts where the brand appears, each with its rank
  • A button through to the full report on fixaeo.com
The extension reads the root domain, not the exact page. Open blog.uber.com and it scores uber.com.
The popup shows one combined score with no engine-by-engine breakdown. That’s deliberate — the free surface is a quick check. Per-engine numbers live in the app, on your dashboard and in Metrics overview.

What if the site hasn’t been scanned?

You’ll see a “Not scanned yet” state instead, with a Run free AEO scan button. That button hands you off to fixaeo.com, where the standard free-scan flow runs and takes about thirty seconds. The result is cached rather than pushed back to the popup, so reopen the popup on that domain to see the score. Every later check on it is instant. If you’d rather not wait, the same screen links out to the public leaderboard. Some pages can’t be scored at all: chrome:// pages, new tabs, IP addresses, and localhost. The popup tells you when the current tab isn’t supported.

Recent checks

The extension keeps a short history of the domains you’ve looked up. That list lives in your browser’s local storage on your machine. It’s never sent to FixAEO and never synced to your Google account. Incognito lookups are never added to this list. The check itself still runs the same way, so the root domain still goes to api.fixaeo.com — only the history entry is skipped.

What can it access?

The extension requests two Chrome permissions: activeTab and storage. activeTab only grants access at the moment you click the toolbar icon, so the extension can’t read tabs in the background. The only network permission is for api.fixaeo.com. Only the root domain leaves your device. No page content, no cookies, no query strings, no full URLs.
Extension scores come from FixAEO’s public free-scan data, not from your tracked brands. They’re a fast read on any domain, including ones you don’t track. For your own brand, trust the numbers in the app — see Visibility Score for what those measure.
