Email is the only notification channel FixAEO has today. There are no push notifications and no SMS. So this page is about email: which ones FixAEO sends, which you can switch off, and which always arrive. You control them in one place: Settings → Notifications. It’s open to every signed-in user, on every plan. Settings opens from the sidebar footer, then pick Notifications in the Account section.
This page is about email. The in-app Inbox is a separate thing — messages that live inside the app, not in your mailbox. See Inbox.

Emails you can turn off

Each of these is a single switch. Turn one off and FixAEO stops sending that category to you. Turn it back on whenever you like.
  • Getting-started tips — a short series in your first week that helps you set up and get value.
  • Scan complete — a heads-up when a visibility scan you started has finished.
  • Visibility digest & recommendations — a periodic summary of your visibility plus new recommendations to act on.
  • Product updates & tips — occasional news about new features. Not one per release.
The visibility digest goes out weekly by default. The switch turns the whole category on or off. There’s no in-app picker to change it from weekly to monthly, so treat the toggle as the only control here.
To change what you receive:
1

Open Settings

Click Settings in the sidebar footer.
2

Go to Notifications

Pick Notifications under Account.
3

Flip the switch

Toggle any category off or on. The change saves on its own — there’s no separate Save button.

Emails that always send

Two categories have no switch. They show an Always on label instead, because they carry things you need to receive to use and keep your account.
  • Sign-in & security — magic links, new-device alerts, and notices when your workspace changes. Turning these off would lock you out of your own sign-in. See Security and privacy.
  • Payment & account access — the reminder before a trial ends, and the notice when access is paused.
The always-on billing emails are the trial-ending reminder and the access-paused notice only. The email you get on each failed charge comes from Lemon Squeezy, FixAEO’s payment provider — not from FixAEO itself. FixAEO never charges your card and doesn’t send its own payment-failure email, so you won’t get two copies of the same news. See Plans and limits for how a failed payment plays out.

One-click unsubscribe

Every opt-out email carries an unsubscribe link in its footer. Clicking it updates the same preference the matching toggle controls, so the two never disagree. Turn a category off from an email, and its switch in Settings is already off next time you look. It works the other way too. Many mail apps also show a one-click Unsubscribe button at the top of these messages. That does the same thing — it flips the same preference, without opening a web page. The always-on categories above don’t carry an unsubscribe link, because you can’t opt out of them.

If you scanned without an account

You can run a scan from the FixAEO homepage without signing up. If you do, FixAEO can email you the result and, later, alert you when that brand’s visibility changes. Those emails aren’t tied to any account, so each one carries its own unsubscribe link — separate from the Settings toggles above. Unsubscribing from a homepage-scan email doesn’t touch the preferences on an account you create later, and changing your account toggles doesn’t touch those homepage emails.

What this page doesn’t cover

Three kinds of email or message live somewhere other than Settings → Notifications:
  • Alert emails — drops, rises, or a new competitor showing up — are switched on or off per rule in Alerts, not here. If you’re getting an alert email you don’t want, edit or turn off the rule that sends it.
  • The in-app Inbox is separate. It holds messages inside the app, not in your mailbox. See Inbox.
  • Deliverability. If your email address repeatedly bounces or marks FixAEO as spam, FixAEO may stop sending to it on its own to protect delivery for everyone. That’s automatic, not a toggle. If your mail has gone quiet and you didn’t turn anything off, email support@fixaeo.com.
Don’t confuse any of this with the Agent Analytics screens (Crawl insights, Crawlability), which read your server logs to show which AI crawlers fetched your pages. Those are reports inside the app, not emails.

Alerts

Per-rule emails for drops, rises, and new competitors. Set up and tuned separately from these toggles.

Inbox

The in-app message center — separate from email.

Security and privacy

Sign-in, magic links, and the security emails that always send.

Plans and limits

Trials, billing, and what happens when a payment fails.
